TDOTA is an opportunity for the members of the Guide Association from the youngest Rainbow to the oldest Trefoil Guild member to talk to other members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world via Amateur Radio. During the Centenary Girlguiding UK stations may use the prefix GG100.

The 22nd February is Thinking Day because it was the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout and Guide movements, and his wife Olave, who was the first World Chief Guide.

On Sunday 21 February 2010, between 2 and 4:30pm, I (and G8BLS and others) operated a radio station at the Colneis Division Guides Thinking Day event in Felixstowe using the callsign GG100COL.

To maintain some green credentials, we had the equipment powered by GOAB (Guide On A Bike), courtesy of Peter G8BLS. Indeed we had District Commissioner on the bike powering the station.

We were operational on the 80m and 20m bands. Also 2m FM for local contacts.

And there’s a special badge to celebrate 25 years of Guides On The Air!
